PPE Division

WHY TOSS IT WHEN YOU CAN WASH IT?

Detroit Sewn, Inc. is an FDA-registered, HUBZone Certified business, manufacturing sewn PPE in Michigan. We focus on washable and reusable products, and have built our products in conjunction with hospitals, getting clinician approvals for all we make. We believe it’s critical to manufacture PPE in the U.S., and it’s also important to utilize reusable PPE whenever possible. When you compare price per washing vs disposable, it’s always a better deal, and it’s a sustainable option. Click on an image below to view products.

THANK YOU TO ALL

WHO VOLUNTEERED

TO MAKE IT A SUCCESS!

Detroit Sewn partnered with Glamorous Moms Foundation to launch an eight-week Volunteer Command Center for DIY Sewn Masks, which ran from March 30-May 28, 2020 at 71 N Saginaw in downtown Pontiac, right next door to the sewing factory.

This initiative allowed for:

* Receipt of 100% fabric donations
* Receipt of donated DIY masks from at-home sewers that have been pre-washed using hot water
* Pickup of free DIY masks in packs of 10 to community groups in dire need

This was a 100% volunteer initiative.

During the eight weeks, thanks to the generous donations of pre-washed sewn masks from our local home sewers, Glamorous Moms Foundation had enough inventory to give 7,050 masks to 390 community groups, families, individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations in Southeast Michigan.

We thank Shannon Lazovski, Glamorous Moms Foundation, Rachna Chandra, our landlords at Monarch Investments, who donated the space, and ALL the home sewers who came together to make a difference!
